(for the previous week’s update, please scroll down and click the left arrow found towards the bottom of the screen)
At last Sunday’s 11:15 a.m. Mass we celebrated the Enrollment of Names of our catechumens in the Book of the Elect. At the 7 p.m. Holy Name Cathedral liturgy of the Word, Archbishop-designate Robert Casey chose/elected our catechumens to celebrate the sacraments of initiation at the next Easter Vigil. The Cathedral was filled with catechumens and candidates from around our Archdiocese and this was only one of four celebrations of election!
The link to register for the next session of OCIA preparation for the sacraments is now open. This cohort begins meeting Monday, May 5, with the sacraments of initiation scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025. The group meets Mondays from 7 – 8:30 p.m. with breaks for holidays.
The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is open to
a) those seeking to be baptized,
b) baptized Christians seeking full Communion with the Catholic Church and
c) baptized Catholics seeking to complete their sacraments of initiation: Confirmation and/or Eucharist.
